This master control transmits a control signal using 4th core pilot wire of the mains cable.

This 230v live conductor carries a very low current to activate the setback mode on the heater electronic control. To connect heaters, all pilot wires on a circuit must be joined through the ring main, either using an additional live conductor or a suitable 4-core cable. Using hard wired signalling, no receiver is needed, offering a cost effective means of centrol control. The pilot wire system is ideal for new build applications.
